If you have pets or children, you may want to consider flooring that is highly water-resistant, such as luxury vinyl flooring. Location can also affect your flooring solution selection. Will the flooring be installed in a common area that will be regularly used? Consider finding a solution that is durable and can withstand high traffic. If you’re installing new flooring in a bathroom, consider tile or other waterproof materials.

Also, take into consideration the cost of removing your old flooring and the cost of hiring a contractor if you do not plan to install the flooring yourself.

Find a few local flooring companies that carry the flooring solution you need and fit within your budget. The sample will be a small portion of the actual product to give you an idea of the product's color, thickness, and texture.
