Carpet Installation: A Smooth Process from Start to Finish
Installing new carpet can breathe new life into your home! But before the big day arrives, it's helpful to understand the process. This guide from Flooring 101 walks you through what to expect, from pre-installation preparation to ensuring a flawless outcome.
Preparing for Your Carpet Installation
Pre-measurement: Our team will schedule a visit to meticulously measure your rooms for a perfect fit.
Clear the Room: To expedite the installation process, please remove furniture and other belongings from the designated area. Existing flooring might also need to be removed in advance.
Plan for Disruptions: Carpet installation involves some noise and dust. We recommend keeping children and pets out of the work area for safety and to minimize distractions for the crew.
On Installation Day: Our experienced crew will arrive on schedule and work efficiently to minimize disruption to your home. Expect some activity and noise in the work area, but you can relax knowing your new carpet is in good hands.
After Installation: Once your beautiful new carpet is installed, you may notice a slight "new carpet" odor initially. Simply ventilate the room for a few hours to eliminate it. Take a moment to walk through the carpeted area and check for any concerns. If you notice anything you'd like us to address, please don't hesitate to contact Flooring 101 right away. We're committed to your complete satisfaction!
Carpet Care & Maintenance Tips
Use mats or area rugs – Place doormats both outside and inside entryways to trap dirt and moisture before it’s tracked into the home. Remember to clean mats regularly too.
Rotate furniture – Occasionally move your furniture to change foot traffic patterns and indentations. In additional, use carpet protectors under the legs of tables, chairs and couches to lessen the weight distribution.
