Carpet care & cleaning tips

Vacuum

Vacuum regularly to remove dust and dirt particles before they get below the surface of the pile. Vacuum at least once a week in light traffic areas, more often in active areas.

Spot clean

Clean spots and spills quickly with products specifically formulated for your carpet type. Your manufacturer’s warranty will recommend product and provide specific instructions for additional care.

Deep clean

Professionally deep clean your carpets every 12 to 18 months. The carpet cleaning equipment professionals use extracts dirt and soil more effectively than DIY rental units.

Use quality carpet padding

Carpet padding not only gives better resilience and comfort underfoot, it can extend the life of your carpet. Your carpeting retailer can advise on the right carpet pad.

DON'T FORGET

Use mats or area rugs – Place doormats both outside and inside entryways to trap dirt and moisture before it’s tracked into the home. Remember to clean mats regularly too.

Rotate furniture – Occasionally move your furniture to change foot traffic patterns and indentations. In additional, use carpet protectors under the legs of tables, chairs and couches to lessen the weight distribution.
